After a challenging start to life in Moto2, Marc Márquez takes a welcome break, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t still working hard…

Hello!

Another day comes around when I bring you my blog… and I wanted to write to tell you how things are going as we prepare for the next grand prix, even though it’s nearly three weeks before we to return to action at Estoril.

You’ll probably know that after the Jerez GP I stayed on for a couple of days at the circuit to train and test some parts on the bike with the team. The truth is that we are delighted with the results of that test in Jerez, and it’s even greater encouragement for the next race. And I still have time to put in the training and conditioning to be in the best possible shape for Portugal.

Estoril will always be a very special place for me because of my win there last year [Marc crashed on the way to the restart after a red flag, leapt from last place to fourth at the restart and eventually beat Nico Terol to first place, virtually guaranteeing his MotoGP 125cc title].

'From Portugal onwards, we’re back in the normal rhythm of racing'

It was an unforgettable weekend and an impressive moment in my career, so as you can imagine, the GP will be very special for me. I hope things go well.

In addition to getting ready for Estoril, the coming days will combine training sessions with supermoto so as not to lose contact with the bike. Having so much time between races, I'm also taking advantage of my days off to be with my folks, because from Portugal onwards, we’re back in the normal rhythm of racing and, as you can imagine, the schedule will once again be tight.

And of course I’m looking forward to the Barça-Real Madrid derby ahead! [El Clásico is this weekend] There is much at stake and I hope to see a good game. No need to tell you who I want to win, right? [Marc was born in Catalonia…] Of course, sportsmanship and fair play will count above all else…

¡Saludos!

Marc
