When a racer’s blood runs through your veins like it does in those of Marc Márquez, four weeks’ wait between Moto2 races is a long time, especially when you’ve a new point to prove at a place where you’ve previously tasted success…

Hi everyone!

Preparation for the Grand Prix of Portugal is still going strong. As I told you all last week, I took advantage of the break we have in the World Championship at the moment to do some physical training. As I also told you, I have been combining this preparation with supermoto sessions on small circuits so as not to lose contact with riding, and everything went very well.

I still can’t wait to resume the normal Moto2 schedule, though. We still have almost two weeks left until Portugal, and all I can think about is doing my best to achieve the most successful weekend I possibly can. I hope things go to plan so that we can add the first points to my total in the championship.

Estoril is a circuit on which we’ve had virtually no testing on the bike, because the test we conducted there was marked by bad weather. So we have much work ahead to prepare.

'I know I have to work hard to adapt to the Moto2 class… all of this is easier with your support'

As you know, I have special memories of everything that happened last year [Marc’s amazing comeback from the back of the grid in the 125 championship]. We will give everything to ensure the weekend goes as smoothly as possible.

I know I have to work hard to adapt to the Moto2 class, learn from each race and be really consistent in my preparation. All of this is easier with your support. This showed last year and you are doing me proud again this year, although things have not gone as I would have liked so far on the track. So thank you once again for every word and gesture of encouragement that you have given me. I hope to return that support with a good weekend in Portugal.

I don’t want to say goodbye without first mentioning Alex Rins and my brother Alex Márquez, who took part in the big race in Jerez yesterday. I also ran in the Spanish Championship [CEV] like most of the fastest Spanish riders who graduate from there to the MotoGP world championship series. Rins fought well and my brother did very well to get second place and his first step up onto a CEV podium. Congratulations!

¡Saludos!

Marc
