Marc Márquez is basking in yet another win on a tough track, but he’s already got his sights set firmly on the next race at Misano.
Hola a todos
As I write, I’m still enjoying the victory I took at the weekend in Indianapolis, but of course the focus is already on Misano, because as you know, there’s another grand prix this weekend.
I am very happy to be back to winning: we look forward to Indianapolis, as it is a circuit we like, but though we enjoyed it a lot during the weekend, it has been difficult. The key to victory was the team's work on the set-up, ensuring I didn’t suffer too much with the tyres, especially the back, because the track conditions were difficult as it was freshly paved.
As I told you, I am very happy to have won, and although it is true that winning the title is mathematically possible and we are closer than before the GP to Stefan Bradl, I intend to continue working as before – race to race – and we take whatever fortune comes our way.
'Now it's time to head to Misano, a circuit that has treated me well in the past'
Of course I look forward to looking at the championship standings, but the sensible thing is to keep my feet on the ground. Bradl also proved his quality once again, despite having to recover from problems.
My main goal this year was to adapt to the new category, and I am doing that. We are going very fast but learn something at every race. This weekend is the first time I've had to manage the condition of the tyres on my own. It's something I learned and will come in handy in the future, so I'm very satisfied.
Now it's time to head to Misano, a circuit that has treated me well in the past and where riders and Italian teams will be strong, as it is their test track. It will be important to run dry during practice for the development of the bike. We travel direct from Indianapolis, as there is hardly time to stop by and we can be more relaxed there.
Un saludo muy grande,
Marc
