A second place in Motegi at the Japanese Moto2 GP at the weekend allowed Marc Marquez to take the lead in the overall world championship standings for the first time. Read the Spaniard's blog here.

¡Hola todos!

After the long trip back from Japan, I'm at home and I finally have the chance to write. I really wanted to do this because, as you can imagine, this has been a special weekend for me. It's great to be home and to see myself at the top of the standings, but I still have my feet on the ground and a calm head, because the team are doing a great job.

I say that we are working really well because Japan was a difficult Grand Prix. All teams had trouble with their bikes in Motegi. The behaviour of the tyres was key and that hindered the configuration of chassis and suspension, so we were very pleased with the result obtained in the race.

[Andrea] Iannone was very strong over the weekend and my second place in the race was good for the championship. I did not expect to leave Japan as the championship leader, but of course we were working hard to be there. The team congratulated me for the work I'm doing and I take great pride in that.

Now it's time to rest, recuperate and prepare for the run-in, which is sure to be exciting. There are three finals ahead for which we will continue working as usual. Next week I will tell you how my preparation for the next race in Australia are going.

¡Saludos a todos!

Marc
