Unlike his twin-brother, Sasha, Gena failed to qualify for the 2011 World Series. However, he was invited as a wildcard diver to the competition of his resident country, Italy, and to his home event in Yalta, Ukraine. Finishing eighth at Lake Garda, he beat his brother by three places. In February 2012 he will again fight for a place among the world’s best high divers, along with his brother and 13 others.
