From untouched rocks and monoliths to iconic landmarks and buildings - in its fifth season, this purest of extreme sports series will dive into fresh water and determine a new champion during eight challenging competitions across Europe, Asia and North and South America.
Denmark, Brazil and Thailand will host a Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series competition for the first time in 2013 as, between May and October, 10 of the world’s best cliff divers launch off 27 metres with no protection, other than their exceptional skill and concentration.
As the pinnacle of cliff diving competitions, the 2013 Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series is once again the platform for some unparalleled action featuring the sport’s top athletes as well as young talent. Last year was the World Series’ most thrilling season to date: The UK's Gary Hunt claimed a hat-trick of titles after the very last dive of the 2012 season, leaving comeback star Orlando Duque (COL) and American qualifier Steven LoBue in second and third overall.
The top three plus two more top divers – Artem Silchenko (RUS) and newcomer David Colturi (USA) – made the automatic cut for the fifth edition. Five more slots are available and 13 athletes from nine different countries will duke it out in the qualification competition in Australia at the beginning of February.
