From 5pm on August 3 until the early hours, electronic dance music festival HARD Summer hit the Los Angeles State Historic Park in all its neon-spandex, fuzzy-booted glory.
The Red Bull Music Academy Discotheque also got down, as acts from many different genres came together to celebrate the diversity of modern music.
The fifth annual HARD Summer festival showcased an international line-up (Sweden's Miike Snow and Little Dragon, Germany's Boys Noize and the UK's Bloc Party were among the attendees) and a mix of genres.
DJ James Murphy was among the artists appearing on the Red Bull Music Academy bill as 50,000 fans partied the night away.
Also making an appearance were the electronic duo, Chromeo...
... and the brilliant(ine) Brenmar
... AND one of the grandmasters of funk, Bootsy Collins, appearing here in typically understated fashion with Funk Unity.
