It was a weekend of titles and milestones for the Red Bull athletes this weekend, as there was success on the piste, on the track and off road. Check out the highlights in pictures.

And it was special weekend for skiing's golden girl, Lindsey Vonn, who earned her 50th World Cup victory when she took first place in the FIS World Cup Downhill in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany.

"It's crazy. I am at a loss for words. I already cried with one of the TV crews and that is enough crying for the day," a tearful Vonn said. "Fifty World Cup wins is a huge mark for me in my career and more than I even thought possible. I just wanted the 50th win."

Lindsey's landmark win puts her right up there amongst the very best of all time, with only Annemarie Moser-Proell (62 wins) and Vreni Schneider (55) ahead of Vonn in terms of Women's World Cup wins. Only three men have 50 or more: Ingemar Stenmark of Sweden (86), Hermann Maier of Austria (54) and Alberto Tomba of Italy (50).

There was success on the men's side as well, with Erik Guay claiming a podium spot in Chamonix on a great day for Canadian skiing.

Three of the top five spots at the French course were taken by Canadians, which delighted Guay, who is now sixth in the overall standings.

"It's pretty incredible," Guay said of his day. "When I came through the finish, seeing that green light, it felt like I was in a pretty good spot.

"If I had to get bumped back (he started 20th, four ahead of Hudec) I'm glad it was a guy like Jan. After watching him on the flats, it was pretty impressive. And then, to have Ben come down No. 50 and be able to put down such a solid run, I think it speaks volumes about where the team is right now and where we're heading."

Five things you should know about Erik Guay.

There was another Red Bull athlete with a milestone to celebrate this weekend, as Gregor Schlierenzauer won his 40th World Cup competition on the Trampolino dal Ben in Predazzo and moved closer to the record of Finland's Matti Nykaenen, who won 46 times.

Gregor was already the best athlete on Friday and proved that again on Saturday, as he captured victory in a dominating manner. The 22-year-old recorded the longest jump in both rounds and scored a total of 249.8 points.

"Not going to Japan was the right decision," Schlierenzauer said. "I really enjoyed this break after the exhausting 4-Hills-Tournament and the ski flying. I had to recharge the batteries. The competition was sensational, I had two very good jumps."

Thomas Morgenstern was only 14th after the first round, but put in a great jump in the final round to move up to third overall. It was his 70th podium result.

"It was not the first time that my second jump was better than the first one," Morgenstern said. "I can be pretty satisfied with my jumps, even if they are not on the highest level like last season. Now i'm looking forward to the next competitions and I will continue fighting, especially for the right feeling in the inrun."

He was just amazing,” said KTM’s team boss Alex Doringer. “Everything he did was perfect. He had great starts and rode faultless races all night long. For sure he’s in a class of his own.”

The championship’s rookie sensation Britain’s Jonny Walker (below) of KTM capped off a fantastic end to his year by clinching second overall in the series – beating Sweden’s Joakim Ljunggren (Husaberg) into third overall.

Swede Niklas Mattsson took the final podium spot after just eking out former Air & Style winner Sebastien Toutant. There were strong performances from both James Stewart and Ryan Dungey in the AMA Supercross Championship in Anaheim, California, with Stewart in second and Dungey in fourth place behind winner and overall series leader Ryan Villopoto.

“I am not pleased to finish off the podium for a second weekend in a row," Dungey said. "I had a better start in the main event this weekend but I struggled to make my passes and allowed those guys to move ahead. I will continue to work on my starts for next weekend and make sure I get my KTM back on the podium to remain in the points chase for the championship."

And Stewart's second place came at a price after he mistimed a rhythm section when leading the first heat and went down.

"To get second tonight was actually pretty good considering how the heat race went and how beat up I feel right now,” Stewart said. “It [the crash] knocked the wind out of me, and my ribs and my wrist, so I’ll be sore tomorrow, and probably Monday, but we’ll be back. It’s nothing we can’t handle, but I was just trying to get through the race from there."

In the AMA West Supercross Lites at the same venue, Marvin Musquin kept up his championship challenge by claiming third position behind overall leader Eli Tomac.

I could feel that [Dean] Wilson was close but I just continued to ride my own lines and I was able to hold him off and secure the podium spot,” he said after the race. “I really focused on my starting technique this week during my training.”

Mikko Hirvonen and Jarmo Lehtinen overcame a variety of extreme conditions – snow, ice and temperatures of around -30° – combined with the handicap of being first out on the road to win the 2012 Rally Finnskog.

The Finnish crew finished some 30.5s ahead of their nearest rival. The perfect “warm-up” for the DS3 WRC ahead of the second round of the World Rally.

“We are very happy to have won, and especially to have beaten the other WRCs competing here,” said Mikko. “This has confirmed that we found the right set-up in testing. The conditions were similar to those we will have at Rally Sweden, so we’re confident. We have a very positive feeling. The DS3 WRC is genuinely quick in the most extreme conditions.”
