Sick Tricks: In round two, to avoid elimination, the top eight riders have to perform a selection of breathtaking jumps on motorcycles flying across bullfighting rings, gravity-defying acrobatics in front of frenzied crowds and some of the most exciting bare-knuckle rivalries anywhere in the world of sports will once again be the essential ingredients of the Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour. This year there are also six stops on the World Tour as we head to: Dubai (UAE), Glen Helen (USA), Istanbul (TUR), Madrid (ESP), Munich (GER) and Sydney (AUS).

2009...

Red Bull X-Fighters returns to the United States of America this year for the first time since 2009 when the World Tour reaches Glen Helen, California. The Glen Helen Raceway in San Bernadino is a 256-acre venue with a rich motocross history. Find out more about the venue here.

The Olympic Stadium in Munich is another first for the Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour in 2012, with a debut visit to this iconic sporting stadium, which was built for the 1972 Summer Olympic Games. It was also the former home of the city's football teams, Bayern Munich and 1860 Munich.

2001...

Created in 2001, the Red Bull X-Fighters concept has grown to become the biggest and most respected freestyle motocross tour on the planet, featuring the world’s best riders throwing down mad tricks in stunning locations across the globe. This year sees the 12th renewal of the championship that was first won in Valencia, Spain in 2001 by America's Mike Jones.

The Dubai stop on April 13 is at the Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR), which is a 1.7 kilometres (1.1 mi) long, 2 square kilometres (0.77 sq mi) gross floor area waterfront community located against the Arabian Gulf in Dubai Marina in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It is the largest single phase residential development in the world and contains 40 towers (36 are residential and 4 are hotels). JBR can accommodate about 15,000 people, living in its apartments and hotel rooms. The Project has 6,917 apartments, from 900 sq ft (84 m2) studios to 5,500 sq ft (510 m2) penthouses.

The third stop on the 2012 Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour is another first, as Istanbul, Turkey has been chosen as the venue after a long wait to host an X-Fighters event. Yedikule Dungeons is the venue and this seven towered fortress was built next to the city wall near the ByzantineImperial Gate (Golden Gate or Porta Aurea). The place of imprisonment of many foreign ambassadors and Ottoman statesman, as well as a place of execution for some, the fortress was last used as a prison in 1831. It was also used as a dwelling for the lions of Topkapi Palace, and later a gunpowder manufacturing place. Today, the fortress is a museum which is also hosting open-air concerts in the inner courtyard during the summer months.

545...

The most points earned by any rider in a single Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour season is the 545 gained by Switzerland's Mat Rebeaud, who, in 2008, won four of the six events and was second and third in the remaining two.

1530...

Current Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour champion, Dany Torres has amassed the most total points in the event's history, with 1,530. The Spaniard also has made the most starts in the history of the tour with 26 and has made the most quarter final and semi-final appearances.
