World champion Sebastian Vettel, in Brazil for the final race of the 2011 season at Interlagos, talks unpredictable track conditions, meticulous preparation and the latest in televisual gadgetry...
Bom dia!
Our first day here in Brazil was okay, but still not as perfect as we would have wanted it to be. There are still a few things that need to be improved, but luckily we still have some time until qualifying and the race. We'll just use every second as well as we can, to make sure we're perfectly prepared.
A thing that you can't really prepare for though are the conditions on the track, because they are that unpredictable. Today was steaming hot, which caused the track to get very greasy and even more challenging. I guess the key is just to keep working as hard as we can, to make sure that not even weather and temperature can stop us putting in a good performance.
Despite the short length of a lap, the race will be very hard and long. After all, there are 71 laps in total, which will use up every bit of our power and concentration.
The fans and spectators watching at home get to see how exhausting racing can be now. You can see the effects the race takes on the drivers through our new camera, which is located next to our helmets. To me, it looks kind of wiggly, but I think it's a great thing for everyone watching at home.
I'm off now to some final meetings. We're gonna make sure we're fully prepared, motivated and concentrated when we enter qualifying. Keep your fingers crossed!
Seb
