With his Austrian team flying high in the FIS Ski Jumping team competition at Willingen, Germany, last weekend, Thomas Morgenstern, current leader in the individual World Cup, is looking to keep the results coming…
Hi guys!
Yesterday we headed off on the bus towards Klingenthal, where we will continue through Germany on the Team Tour. At the moment, our team are leading and we definitely don’t want this situation to change.
I am happy with the past weekend. On Saturday, I recorded the best jump of anyone in our team and I claimed fourth position on Sunday [in the individual event], despite difficult conditions and a technical mistake in the first heat. The last few competitions have all been quite hard to jump, but I performed well and successfully defended the lead in the World Cup.
'My mates and I will definitely give our best'
The atmosphere in Willingen was amazing. The German fans supported all of the athletes. They all got very excited when Severin Freund landed in first place, of course. Congratulations to Severin, as he produced a great performance.
Now I’m looking forward to the next team event stops in Klingenthal today and Oberstdorf this coming weekend. My mates and I will definitely give our best.
Please cross your fingers for us!
Thomas
