Ski jump star, Thomas Morgenstern is happy with his Italian job in Predazzo at the weekend, where a podium finish has given him a boost ahead of the next event...

Hi folks,

The weekend in Val di Fiemme was really successful for me. I was able to make a friend with the hill, as the world championships take place in Predazzo next year. So this was kind of a final test for it. I am absolutely happy with the results.

The third and the sixth places are valuable components in my season. There is a big gap between myself and the overall leaders, but it is possible to reach the top. The feeling in the air is that I'm close to getting everything right.

Although it’s just a few metres, the timing at the jump needs optimization. I’m too fast with the movement sequences, which is kind of bad in tailwinds. I‘m getting closer to my best and these performances will help to give me more self-confidence.

On Wednesday I’ll hit the road towards Willingen. Along the way there will be two stops to optimize my materials in view of the Ski Flying World Championships in Vikersund this year. I’ll leave nothing undone!

Best,

Thomas
