There’s no more Log Cabin at Suzuka, but Sebastian Vettel still managed to have a karaoke party anyway after he won his second F1 drivers' title.

Since retaining his World Championship in Suzuka, Sebastian Vettel has barely had time to draw breath. His presence has been demanded by fans, sponsors and his team – but the team still found time to celebrate in traditional Japanese style, with an evening of karaoke.

The F1 paddock likes to gossip and details of Sebastian’s microphone exploits on Sunday evening in Suzuka have raised many smiles – and he happily confirmed a few of the details in today’s Korean Grand Prix press conference. One surprise was the news that Seb wasn’t the only world champion at the party.

‘I think after a couple of drinks it was quite obvious where I come from…’

“Yeah, I found myself in the bar with the boys – we enjoyed that night very much. We had a very good time. Did some karaoke, which I think is traditional in Japan. It was a very good night, very special, and after a couple of drinks everyone was quite happy. Some time in the night Michael [Schumacher] came as well and joined us and we had a couple of drinks together. I think after he came I felt much worse as I started mixing a little bit, which wasn’t the best strategy.”

Pushed to reveal his set list and warming to the task, Vettel obliged: “We had Yellow Submarine, Hey Jude, My Way – no Japanese songs, our Japanese is not so fluent. I think the funny thing is that whereas I might usually be quite in control of not showing the German accent too much, I think after a couple of drinks it was quite obvious where I come from…”
