Russian-born Swiss star, Iouri Podladtchikov took home the gold medal in the Halfpipe at the World Snowboarding Championships in Oslo, Norway at the weekend.
Podladtchikov was one of several Red Bull-backed snowboarders to emerge from the championships with medals, as Sebastien Toutant and Seppe Smits claimed silver and bronze in the Slopestyle.
Enni Rukajaervi took bronze in the Women's Slopestyle and Queralt Castellet won silver in the Women's Halfpipe.
After sunny weather all week, the riders had to contend with less than ideal conditions, including fog and rain but, the standard of the riding was extremely high despite the conditions in Oslo.
Podladtchikov won gold with an impressive run that consisted of a backside double cork 1260 mute, frontside double cork 1080 truck driver, Cab double cork 1080 mute and ended with a frontside 1080 tail.
And I-Pod was delighted with the victory. “I'm super happy that this was such an amazing event," he said. "It was so cool to ride. I gave it my best and it worked out. This being the World Championships, it’s a sweet, sweet victory.”

Chas Guldemond took the win ahead of Toutant and Smits at the last minute of the competition with a run that consisted of a frontside blunt 270 out, frontside boardslide to 450 out, switch backside 1260, backside 1080, tailpress to backside 180 and ended with a huge Cab 1260.
Castellet was also denied victory by a narrow margin, as the Spanish rider lost out on the gold to Kelly Clark (USA) by just a single point.
