- About
- The hugely popular Enduropale du Touquet is a three-hour extreme enduro race that takes place every year on the beaches and dunes Le Touqet, France. The circuit sees over 1,200 participants slog it out across 15km of beach, made up mainly of wide and sandy dunes. Of the entrants around 1,000 are on motorbikes, with the rest tackling the sand on quads. With its straight starting line, the Enduropale also allows amateurs to compete on an even footing with top professional riders like four-time Dakar champion Cyril Despres. With its elegant 20s and 30s-built villas, Le Touquet has a reputation as the most elegant holiday resort of northern France, the playground of rich Parisians, with many luxury hotels. All that changes when the enduro bikes roar into town. The beach race normally attracts about half a million petrol-crazed fans, if you fancy getting involved there is no charge for parking road bikes at the circuit, no charge to camp with the thousands of other fans along the beach and best of all, no charge to take in the action. What are you waiting for?
