The 2010–11 FIS Snowboard World Cup is finally upon us. Sponsored by LG, it is one of, if not the, biggest winter sports competitions in the world. The multi-race tournament will take place across some 20 cities, in more than 15 countries across the globe and the season spans from 11th September 2010 to 27th March 2011. Broadcasters in over 80 countries will cover this unique clash which consists of three key events; he parallel slalom, snowboard cross, and the halfpipe. One of the main highlights of the men's section of the World Cup season are the Big Air events that occur is the very heart of some the world's most prestigious cities including London, Seoul, Stockholm, Barcelona and Quebec. Competitors will fly off a specially constructed large ramp, similar to a ski slope while performing aerial tricks in their plight for glory.

Nestled in a box canyon surrounded by majestic, 13,000-foot peaks of the San Juan Mountains, the Town of Telluride is filled with colourful legends, over a century of history and Rocky Mountain spirit. Just six blocks wide and twelve blocks long, the National Historic District is a window into the town's illustrious past and a showcase of spirited individualism and community pride. No wonder that the LG Snowboard FIS World Cup grabbed the chance when it opened to stage the first ever World Cup at Telluride. A boardable terrain of 2000+ acres, a total of 115 trails with 'Galloping Goose" as its longest run (7.4km) and an average annual snowfall of 789 centimetres, the village offers everything to host a perfect World Cup stop.
