Named after Ettore Bugatti, the Bugatti Circuit is a race track situated within the Circuit de la Sarthe near Le Mans, France. This semi-permanent course which uses local roads that remain open to the public for most of the year will play host to the 2011 Grand Prix De France. The Bugatti Circuit uses part of the larger track as well as a separate, purpose built section of its own. The city of Le Mans itself is located on the Sarthe River and traditionally the capital of the province of Maine, it is now the capital of the Sarthe department and the seat of the Roman Catholic diocese of Le Mans. It is part of the Pays de la Loire region and its inhabitants are known as Manceasux and Mancelles. In addition to the MotoGP the track is most famed as being the host of the '24 Hours of Le Mans' race since 1923.
