The Motoclub Monterosato has a proud history and tradition in motocross that stretches right the way back to the mid 1950s, when they ran the races from the town centre of Fermo up into the surrounding hills. Before long they set up on the site that the club still uses today, all the while changing and developing their circuit as motocross changed over the years. Their first GP was, we believe, the 1976 500cc Italian GP – at a time when the circuit contained just seven jumps.
Only two years ago the club created an all-new track and modern pit facilities to meet the latest GP requirements, with over 12 months of constant work. Taking place earlier in the campaign this time round, it is now the only Italian round on the entire calendar.
