About: Watkins Glen International, nicknamed 'The Glen' is at the southern tip of Seneca Lake in New York. It was long known around the world as the home of the United States Grand Prix, which it hosted for 20 consecutive years between 1961 and 1980, but it has been home to road racing of almost every class for over 50 years. One of the most iconic names in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, The Heluva Good! Sour Cream Dips at The Glen is a 90-lap, 220.5m (354.9km) race. It's one of two road course races in the NASCAR Sprint Cup schedule, with the other one being the Toyota/Save Mart 350. The race was known simply as the NASCAR Sprint Cup at the Glen, until Centurion Boats purchased the naming rights for three year back in 2007. Incidentally the race that same year has been hailed as one of the most exciting, with one of the strangest finishes in the course's history. Tony Stewart stole victory following a spin out by Jeff Gordon on the second-last lap. 1991 saw tragedy as J.D. McDuffe was killed in a crash in the Outer Loop.
