- About
- Flamenco is a style of music and dance originating from the Andalusian region of Spain in the 15th century, it is considered a part of the very heart and culture of the country. Flatland is a freestyle BMX riding style performed on smooth, flat surfaces. With no ramps, jumps or grind rails it is a somewhat removed form of freestyle, described as a form of artistic cycling with a blend of breakdancing. Generally BMX riders tend to take part in more than one area, whereas flatlanders tend only to ride flatland. What do you get when you combine the two? Red Bull Flamenco Flatland! A new and innovative creation, exploiting the most artistic side of BMX flatland blended seamlessly with the beauty and majesty of Flamenco music and dance. This event will push top international riders to compete and perform to purely Flamenco rhythms. Riders will be asked to interpret steps that a dancer will perform for them, mingling their own personality with the same style.
