- About
- The Red Bull F1 Running Showcar is back again in 2010 to take Formula One onto the streets of cities throughout the world. A full-spec car will once again be travelling to countries where there are no F1 races, to provide fans with a first hand encounter of the F1 experience. All the things that make this sport great, the speed, excitement, noise and thrills made their first stop in Naples, Italy back in April, when over 40,000 Italian fans turned out in force to see the afternoon opened by Chris Pfeiffer. The German four-time world stunt champion wowed the crowds with his incredible, gravity-defying motorcycle stunts. Australian Mark Webber and Swiss Sébastien Buemi were the Red Bull F1 drivers who tore up the streets, reaching speeds of 256kph along the 1.2km strip from Piazza della Repubblica to Piazza Vittori. Next up Red Bull's Jaime Alguersuari wowed over 200,000 spectators in Santo Domingo. In fact the Dominican Republic were so impressed with the young Toro Rosso driver that he was even made a distinguished guest of the city of Santo Domingo by the city's council. The Goodwood Festival of Speed was the most recent stop on the tour, and marked with the presence of some of the biggest names of the racing world including Brits Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton, as well as other contemporary heroes of the sport. The next group of lucky fans eager to dissolve themselves in the glory of this fantastic event are the Germans, as it heads to Heppenheim.
