Last season the Red Bulls made a name for themselves across Europe with Salzburg becoming the only team in the continent to win every single one of their six UEFA Europa League group matches. Unfortunately they then crashed out in the last 32 as they lost 3-2 to Standard Liege in the first leg, squandering a comfortable two goal advantage in the process. A single goal would've been enough to see them through in the return leg, but Liege held on for a scoreless draw to progress. This season's group is set to be even more of a challenge, with a line-up that wouldn't look out of place in the Champions League – with Manchester City, Juventus and Lech Poznan the opponents.

On the 21st October the internationally renowned giants of football, Juventus, visit the Red Bull Arena in one of the biggest games in the Red Bulls' history. With a rich history steeped in glory Juve are the most successful club in Italian football, the second most successful European club in the 20th Century, they were also the first, and at present, only team to have won all official UEFA sanctioned international competitions. They have the largest number of supporters of any football team in the world at over 170 million and are also recognised for their contributions to the Italian national side throughout the years. This encounter has all the makings of a classic, and a favourable result for Salzburg would write itself and the players involved into the Austrian football history books for all time.
