The Red Bull Under My Wing project took full flight in Brazil as multiple world skate champion Sandro Dias opened the doors of his Sao Paulo house to 10 rookie riders.
Red Bull Under My Wing is a program that has been developed to give the next generation of skateboarding stars a competitive edge in the world of professional sport, with the help and assistance of skating star Sandro Dias. Sandro Dias is a Brazilian professional vert skateboarder who started back in 1986, before turning pro in 1995. He is considered the king of the 540 and one of only four people to be able to land the infamous 900. The 900 is a 2.5-revolution (900 degrees) aerial spin performed on a skateboard ramp. It is considered one of the most technically demanding tricks in the world. Dias won the gold medal at X Games 12 in Skateboard Vert. He won the world vert skating titles in 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007. Recently he suffered a severe knee injury and it has been widely discussed that it could prohibit him ever winning another title.
The 3-day coaching clinic will take place from 13-15 November 2010 at Braganca Paulista, Brazil and is designed to equip junior skateboarders with the knowledge and expertise to help develop their careers.
