On Tuesday, 9 June, at 6pm the beautiful sunny weather welcomed Red Bull X-Fighters Exhibition Tour at the Glavni trg square in Maribor. This one-of-a-kind spectacle, happening for the first time in Slovenia, caused city buses to stop and admire the action in the air. Four international and one Slovene rider made more than 15,000 visitors went absolutely wild, or as Nick Franklin put it: “This was the best show ever. The crowd put their hands up and yelled ‘we want more’. Not only the square but also nearby windows and roofs were full with people. This gave us additional energy and we showed them everything we got.” The riders were giving interviews and autographs one whole hour after the event.
The best Slovenian FMX rider Primoz Pavsic might not have any experience with competitions, but he certainly took our breath away while performing unbelievably hard tricks with such a confidence that it might not be long before we see him in the Red Bull X-Fighters World Series. “It was the first time for me to jump from such a kicker and I was really pumped with adrenaline before the first jump. After that, I relaxed and it was pure enjoyment. I absolutely love being in the air! It was so cool! Never in my life have I given so many interviews or autographs,” enthusiastically said the 26-year-old Primoz. “Of course, I would love to compete at Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour. I’m waiting for their invitation [laugh].”
The atmosphere at the Red Bull X-Fighters Exhibition Tour in Maribor was additionally spiced up by the performance of BMX and MTB riders, break dancers, and beatboxer.
