– The rally has been cancelled twice: in 1974 due to the worldwide energy crisis and in 1990 because of a lack of snow.

TECHNICAL
Tyres allocation: Each crew can use a maximum of 42 tyres over the course of the event.
Tyres: Cars used special studded snow tyres for Sweden. Each tyre is equipped with nearly 400 tungsten-tipped spikes that bite into the road surface.
Engines: The engines sealed in Sweden must be used again in Jordan and New Zealand.
