Alexandru Nicolau from Romania is junior world champion in parachuting (precision landing) - and there is still a lot of room to improve.
Flying is a word commonly used in Alex’s family, as both his parents are parachutists. Alexandru gained his first experience at the age of four, when he was parachuting together with his father. Seven years later, Alex did his first single flights with a paraglider. One year later he experienced parachuting, in tandem with his father. When he turned 16, Alex made his first solo jump.
In 2007, Alex joined the Parachuting National Team and finished third in his first participation at the European Parachuting Championship in Croatia. His evolution was a fast one: in the lst few years, he has made more than 1000 jumps.
Away from the sport, Alexandru loves snowboarding, ice skating and photography. His biggest role models are Shaun White and Travis Pastrana.
