Being nearly 40 and looking like just having reached adulthood is something ski jump legend, media magnet and Austria’s probably most famous rascal Andreas Goldberger aka ‘Goldi’ really deserves.

After quitting his long and successful career and joining the circle of co-hosts five years ago, the three-time overall World Cup champion today dedicates his energy to discovering young ski jump talent through his project called ‘Goldi Talente Cup’.

In the 1990s, it was due to him that Austria’s sports-minded audience spent hours in front of the TV and swarmed to national and international ski-jump destinations at temperatures far below zero. 20 World Cup victories in just three years, 175 top ten places and three large Crystal Awards have carried Andreas Goldberger into Austria’s athletic history books.

He also set an official world record: In 2000, Andi jumped 225m in Planica, holding the ski-flying world record at that time. In 2005, ‘Goldi’ retired from ski jumping after 14 years, having won two Olympic medals, three ski-flying world championship medals and seven world championship medals. Some of his legendary quotes are still used in commercials on Austrian TV and radio.
