Benny Solis, Jr. had a spectacular 2010 season, taking home 3 National Championships and a runner-up spot in his first full season with Graves Motorsports. Benny contested the 8 race WERA National Series, winning the C Superbike Championship, C Superstock Championship, 600 Superstock Championship and taking second in the 600 Superbike Championship. Benny also gained high finishes and valuable experience  while running the National Endurance series.

Solis is following the same steps that young professionals Josh Herrin and Tommy Aquino took to hone their road racing skills before securing positions on the Graves Yamaha AMA road racing team. Also, like Herrin and Aquino, Solis comes from a racing family. He spent much of his time as a youth in the paddock watching his father race. At nine years old he quickly mastered his first dirt bike. Not long after he was on a road race bike doing track days and going racing in a mini road racing series in Southern California.

Solis’ name is no stranger to racing news; he often made industry headlines throughout his championship-winning season in the Red Bull AMA Rookies Cup Series. After a racing stint in Europe with the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup, Solis returned to the States hoping for a ride on a 600. Chuck Graves of Graves Motorsports has a proven eye for young talent and soon made Solis an offer.

“Benny has proven that he is a gentleman in the paddock and a fierce competitor on the track,” said Graves of Solis, “He is making the transition from 125 to 600cc equipment quite quickly. I am looking forward to watching his development.”
