Surfing rising star Carlos Munoz is going from strength to strength as he continues to impress the judges on the ISA panel.
An epic performance at the 2008-09 Junior World Open event among his home waters of Costa Rica made history as Carlos became the youngest ever champion in the contest’s nine-year history. He was just 16 years old and moved into the ISA’s world rankings at number nine.
In the same weekend, Carlos also won the national Junior and Boys titles – setting another record in Costa Rica for his achievements. Since then he as taken the Junior and Boys titles in 2007, 2008 and added the Open title again in 2009. In 2010 he was once again the Junior champion and Pro Junior winner in the VQS championship
