About Chris
Chris Birch is a five-time New Zealand Enduro Champion. At 30 years old Chris has been competing in endurance motorbiking since the age of 17 and he lives and breathes motorcycles. Riding in partnership with Red Bull and KTM bikes, he was the 2010 Red Bull Romaniacs winner – a title he had been chasing for four years
His motorcycle career began after a young Chris became hooked on motorbike trial riding in 1988. An impressive initial race at the North Island Enduro championships saw the talented rider storm the competition to take first place in the 200cc class in 1998. Chris won several New Zealand National Trials titles in Clubmen, Intermediate and Expert classes while still only 18.
With a taste for more extreme enduro events since first whetting his appetite in 2007, Chris recently made his way to South Africa to claim back-to-back victories in the Roof of Africa race in 2009 and 2010. He also came second in the Red Bull City Scramble held in downtown Auckland.
