He learned from the best: Leonard Bernstein and Sergiu Celibidache were the teachers of Christoph Hagel, who became known as a famous international opera and concert conductor. In Berlin he made a name for himself through his adaptations of operas at inconvenient venues. Legendary are his productions “Don Giovanni” in Berlin’s E-Werk, “Apollo and Hyazinth” in Berlin’s Bode-Museum and “The Magic Flute” in Berlin’s underground station. Being the artistic director, Christoph Hagel is also playing the piano during the performance.
