About Edgar
Edgar Steven Davids is a Dutch professional footballer. After beginning his professional career with Ajax, he played for Milan, Juventus, Barcelona, Internazionale and Tottenham Hotspur before returning to the Amsterdam club. Davids has glaucoma, which requires him to wear protective goggles during football matches. His dreadlocked hair and protective eyewear make Davids one of the most recognizable footballers of his generation. Davids was one of the players chosen by Pelé to be featured in the FIFA 100 list of the world's greatest living footballers.
Edgar Davids is regarded as the ‘Mayor of the Streets’ by both fans and peers alike. He has passionately promoted StreetSoccer worldwide for many years now. Testament to this fact is the yearly StreetSoccer tournament named after him and held on ‘Edgar Davids Square’ in Amsterdam.
