About Elias
Swiss freeskier Elias Ambühl is going from strength to strength with an impressive list of titles under his belt for the 2010 season including taking second place at the King of Style contest and being named Athlete of the Year.
For the professional skier, the path to gaining status on the snow started at just 3 years old, when he took to the slopes for the very first time. A decade later the vibrant competitor switched to freeskiing and began to carve out his own distinctive style to prove he is a worthy contender.
One of five children, Elias lives at home in Switzerland but spends most of the year travelling to global contests and has a packed schedule planned for 2011. The start to his season so far has been more than successful with Elias taking second place at the Freestyle.ch event followed by a sixth place at the London Freeze contest and a phenomenal top spot at the Budapest Fridge competition.
This remarkable form has led to an invitation to the Dew Tour in Breck and for the X Games Slopestyle contest where he will battle against legends such as Russ Henshaw (Australia), and Bobby Brown (USA) for the crown.
