Whitewater kayaker Jana Dukatova won the first World Cup race in her career this weekend in Augsburg - and it brought her the overall victory of this years World Cup series.

Jana is one of the best all-rounders in the paddle sports equally at ease in a kayak or a canoe, in slalom or white water. She’s also a ferocious competitor. The Slovakian is a world champion, European champion and ICF Canoe Slalom World Cup winner. In 2009, she took gold in the World Cup at Augsburg, despite only having had a few days practice on the course before the event. Jana is also an accomplished academic, and has a degree in philosophy.
