About Kevin
One of the most exciting and charismatic motorbike racers of all time, Kevin won him legions of loyal fans worldwide with his desire, determination and raw courage.
By the time hung up his racing leathers, the Texan had amassed 25 Grand Prix wins, 21 lap records, 29 pole positions and the 1993 World Championship. When he made his tearful retirement, the FIM honoured the occasion by retiring his competition number 34. It’s the first time in the history of the sport that it had done so.
Kevin went on to set up the Kevin Schwantz School in Birmingham, Alabama, to teach better road safety to young riders. “My ultimate goal at the Schwantz School is to create more confident, safer riders,” he said. “Each class is divided into two groups, to allow for more personal attention by my championship winning instructors.”
In 2008, he came on board with the Red Bull Rookies Cup, helping to steer the next generation of MotoGP on the right path to the big time.
