About Marc

Marc Swoboda grew up in Tulln, in Lower Austria, which is not known for its mountains, so becoming a freestyle snowboarder was an unusual career choice.

But Austria’s not exactly famous for its blues guitarists either and Marc’s pretty handy on the guitar. And if his acting skills in the snowboard movie Loveolution 2 are anything to go by, when he’s not riding boards, he could be treading them.

As a snowboarder, multi-talented Marc has plenty of tricks up his sleeve which he’s shown off riding kickers and rails across the world. He burst on to the domestic scene in 2007 winning the national Peanut Butter & Rail Jam in 2007 as well as best trick award at the Spring Classics.

He rocked it at the Austrian Rookie Challenge earning ‘Best Style’, ‘Best Railrider’ and ‘Best Overall Rider’ and finished fourth at the 2007 Ästhetiker Wängl Tängl Jam (5-star TTR event), where he also took ‘Best Rail’ and ‘Best Oldschool Tweak’. His greatest achievements include winning the European Peanut Butter & Rail Jam and placing third at the 2008 World Final and second at the Red Bull Nanshan Open in Beijing.

A series of injuries kept him out of competition in 2009 but he reached a new audience with appearances in three videos – Let’s Go Get Lost, Loveolution andMosaic. In 2010, he came fourth at the Red Bull Upside Down in Linz (Austria) despite a sore shoulder and appeared in Nitro’s Turn On, Tune Out, Drop In and  Seppi Scholler’s Loveolution 2.

In his spare time he enjoys trampolining and baseball. He’s an old school hip hop fan and is never without his Baby Taylor guitar. “It’s my travel guitar. I play some Blues rhythms and Bob Dylan songs”.
