Most people can kick a football, some can do a kick-up or two but Sean Garnier can make a football dance. In 2008, he was crowned world champion at the inaugural Red Bull Street Style World Finals in Sao Paulo, Brazil, the spiritual home of freestyle. Garnier’s style is more than ball tricks – he combined music, breakdance and basketball in his winning routine to overcome top Japanese freestyler Yosuke Yokota in the final. Yokota’s trademark somersaults were not enough to wow the panel of judges which included Netherlands international and European Cup winner Edgar Davids. In the end,  Garnier emerged triumphant from a field whittled down from the winners of 138 qualification tournaments held in 44 countries. And as the world champion, he’s now a marked man.
