How do I join the Rookies Cup?
Take the Road to Rookies Cup. Start by filling in the Application Form with your details and you will start the process. If accepted you will set off on the Road to Rookies Cup.
What happens next?
After filling out the Application Form we will wish to see race and championship results through the 2011 racing year so that we can see the progress the Applicant is making. We are not only interested in dedicated road racers, those who ride dirt bikes may also be developing the riding skills that translate into success on tarmac.
The very best riders from all over the world will then be invited to a Selection Event as the final test in the Road to Rookies Cup
From the Selection Event a small number of riders will be invited to take part in the 2012 Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup.

Who can take part in the Selection Process?
All motorcycle racing talents born between January 1st,1995 and March 31st, 1999
When is the application deadline?
The application deadline is Wednesday, August 31st, 2011. The successful applicants are likely to be those who applied early in 2011 so that we have been able to watch their progress through the racing season.
What if I miss the deadline?
Visit our website early next year in order to apply for the 2012 Selection process.
When do I know if I have been invited to the Selection Event?
Shortly after the end of the selection deadline.
Do riders need racing experience?
High performance motorcycle experience will make it much more likely that you will be invited to the Selection Event. This does not have to be road racing. It could be some other high performance motorcycle experience including motocross, dirt track and speedway.
Do riders need to bring their own equipment?
Riders should bring their own leather gear and helmet. These must comply with the safety standard according to general road racing regulations. Metrakit PreGP 125 racing bikes will be provided free of charge at the Selection Event.
At which track will I have to compete?
The Selection Event will be run at a European circuit. The details will only be announced at the time of the Selection Event invitation.
Can girls participate too?
Yes, of course, the Road to Rookies Cup and the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup are open to anyone who fulfils the basic criteria.
What does participation in the Selection Event cost?
Nothing. The only costs that participants need to incur are the expenses of travelling and lodging for the Selection Event and providing their own racing outfit and helmet.

Riders qualify for the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup by taking the Road to Rookies Cup and successfully participating in a Selection Event the year before. Consequently, from the Selection Events of 2011, probably 10 to 15 riders will be selected to participate in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup 2012.

Riders qualify for the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup by taking the Road to Rookies Cup and successfully participating in a Selection Event the year before. Consequently, from the Selection Events of 2011, probably 10 to 15 riders will be selected to participate in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup 2012.
What's the course of action after the Selection Event?
After the last Rookies Cup race of 2011 it will be decided which riders of the Rookies Cup 2011 are to be invited to remain in the Cup for 2012. Finally, the definite announcement of the 2012 Rookies Cup riders will be made shortly after the Selection Event.
If I am already a Red Bull Rookie can I participate again in the Selection Process?
A rider who has already competed one season in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup can not start the Selection Process again. However, it is possible for a rider in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup to be invited to participate in the Cup the following year, in order to further develop his talent.

What if I am outside the age group?
If you are within one year of the age limit stipulated within the regulations we would still very much like to hear from you in case there is some quite exceptional reason why you should be included. Otherwise we kindly ask you to consider other ways to follow your passion for racing. We respect the efforts of racers all over the world.
