After many years of success for Red Bull X-Fighters events all over the world, for the first time the greatest freestyle motocross show will stop in Italy, hosted by its beautiful capital: Rome, the “Eternal City”.
Red Bull X-Fighters is back on British soil for the second time in 2010 and the incredible FMX spectacular will once again light up London's Battersea Power Station.
New Zealand’s Levi Sherwood recharged London’s iconic Battersea Power Station on Saturday as he won the fifth stop of the Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour 2010 in the British capital. The 19-year-old kept a cool head in front of 30,000 fans packed into the former coal-fired power station as he threw down huge trick after huge trick with his inimitable style. Nate Adams (USA) and Dany Torres (ESP) took the remaining spots on the podium, while Tour leader Andrè Villa had to settle for a disappointing ninth place.
Cheered on by 25,00 fans, Australia’s Robbie Maddison tamed Madrid’s legendary bullfighting ring on Friday night as he secured victory against the best freestyle motocross riders on the planet. Second place went to the Swiss rider Mat Rebeaud, with the Red Bull X-Fighters filling the Plaza de Toros de Las Ventas right down to the very last seat for the ninth year running.
For the first time Russia will play host to the Red Bull X-Fighters World Series, as the cream of the international FMX scene pull into Red Square, in the capital Moscow. Contrary to popular belief the name of the square does not derive from either Communism or the colour of many its buildings, it actually draws its roots from the word 'krasnyi', which once meant 'beautiful', but in contemporary Russian has come to mean 'red'. The breathtakingly beautiful, varied architecture, coupled with a truly magical atmosphere serve to belie the square's often brutal, bloody history. Passion and flare will once again dominate the city, when the third stop of the World Series sees riders from across the globe battle for the right to be crowned the Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour Champion.
The Great Sphinx of Giza and 10,000 fans cast a keen eye over the 12 best FMX athletes on the planet on Friday night. At the second stop of the Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour 2010 desert winds, sand and temperatures of 40 degrees Celsius pushed man and machine to the limit, with Adam Jones (USA) emerging victorious in front of one of the world’s most spectacular backdrops.
Norway’s Andre Villa pulled off a surprise win at the first stop of the Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour 2010 in Mexico City on Friday evening. With the main event forced to be abandoned due to extreme weather conditions, the Norwegian used his win in Qualifying to claim victory in the city’s Plaza de Toros Monumental.
