Red Bull takes five with Sydney based street artist Numskull. Numskull’s triclops cartoon characters and beautiful illustrations made it across the pond for the SUPERPOPMAGICSHOW! in May. You can also catch some of Numskull’s work at south London rave spot Bussey Building.

How old were you when you started painting?
I never really had a proper interest in painting until the late 90s.

What inspires you?
My friends and weird people.

What’s your favourite material?
Spray paint and a big wall.

Does music ever inspire your paintings?
In the studio I’ll either have a variety of music, podcasts or sci-fi soundtracks.

What’s the first thing you reach for in the morning?
My cat’s silly little face.

What is the best thing about being an artist in Sydney?
We have an ample amount of sunshine...
