Red Bull takes five with Bristolian street artist Copyright who was featured in the SUPERPOPMAGICSHOW! exhibition at Red Bull Studios in May this year. Whilst in town Copyright joined Red Bull Curates to transform the exterior wall at Brixton Club House with a spectacular mural.

How old were you when you started painting?
I’ve been painting forever.
What inspires you?
Music, films and ancient mythology.

Acrylic
Does music ever inspire your paintings?
Most of my paintings are like little songs and are titled like songs. I guess I realised I couldn’t sing so I paint instead.
What does the term ‘street art’ mean to you?
It’s a word that other people use to try to explain what I do.
What’s the first thing you reach for in the morning?
Coffee
What is the best thing about being an artist in Bristol?
I’ve become a bit of a recluse I don’t get out much.
