About Blitz Kids
Blitz Kids are a bunch of college friends who famously auditioned lead singer, Joe James in the back of a Ford Fiesta in a Nantwich car park, Cheshire. Part of the anti-auto-tune movement the quintet is completed by Jono Yates on guitar and vocals, Nic Montgomery covering bass and vocals, Billy Evanson strumming guitar and Eddie Hawx thrashing it out on the drums.
The Kids were raised on a diet of hardcore bands a la Glassjaw and punk legends Black Flag and Bad Religion. Not forgetting their hip hop and soul muses Jay Z, Dr Dre and Stevie Wonder who inspire the band and their electric sound.
They caught the ear of the industry back in 2008 and have been tearing up the festival circuit with heart wrenching lyrics, emo chords and great hair. Scoring support from a myriad of blogs and publications the collective were recently christened by Kerrang as a “gloriously deranged cacophony.”
