Reigning X Games Moto X Women’s Champ Ashley Fiolek recently took time away from her busy WMX racing schedule to prep with fellow Red Bull moto athlete Robbie Maddison just days before X Games 17. After regretfully declining an invite to race the inaugural Enduro X event, Ashley admitted that the time constraints of training, and the lack of practice facilities led her sponsors and family to agree that her energy would be best focused on defending her Moto X gold.
Recently noted for his 2010 jump of the Corinth Canal in Greece, consistent Red Bull X-Fighters podium threat Robbie Maddison definitely qualifies with the coaching credentials to pass along a few pointers to the young Fiolek. As she worked to tighten up her ramp skills before this weekend’s competition, Robbie was on hand to spin laps and offer tips on making the jump from ramp to dirt a bit smoother and more efficient.
Let the photos speak for themselves - Ashley was nailing whips and Nac Nacs by the end of the day!
One of the best in the FMX biz, Maddo takes a quick break from coaching to throw down a quick session on his freestlye course.
Ashley is no stranger to floating big gaps on her factory Honda CRF250R, but the extra kick from Maddo’s FMX ramps allow her to inject more style than usual.
Between ramp sessions, Fiolek and Maddison spun a few laps around Maddo’s track to stay limber. Needless to say, Maddo had his hands full!
It didn’t take long before Ashley was throwing down whips and Nac Nacs with the best of ‘em!
