Rhys Millen and Ryan Tuerck put on a show in Atlanta Red Bull Content Pool

Two of the most recognizable names in the world of drifting, Rhys Millen and Ryan Tuerck, took to the streets of Atlanta yesterday and wowed the Midtown locals with their remarkable driving skills. The impromptu demo took place on Atlanta’s most iconic road, Peachtree Street, and brought traffic to a standstill.

The two professional drivers peeled down West Peachtree Street side-by-side and drifted around the corner onto Peachtree Street. The deafening noise of the roaring engines and screeching tires couldn’t help but capture the attention of the city.

Skidding the Streets

“We’re using the road as our canvas to lay down some crazy black marks and put on some action for the local fans here to get ready for round two of Formula Drift Atlanta,” said Millen.

The epic display of talent and skill captured the attention of several bystanders, pedestrians and onlookers from office buildings lining Peachtree Street - not to mention the commuters on the road.

“We were standing here on Peachtree Street and Team Red Bull just came through and destroyed it with some awesome drifting,” exclaimed William Boso, bystander. “They were sliding everywhere left and right. It was one of the most bad-ass things I’ve ever seen.”

Drivers Behind the Drift

Rhys Millen (pictured at left above) is one of the most respected drivers and veterans of performance motorsports. Outside of competition, the world champion can also be seen on the big screen as a stunt driver in several blockbuster films.

2008 “Driver of the Year” Ryan Tuerck is an up-and-comer on the scene with a rich background in the world of extreme sports and several top podium finishes under his belt.

Following their high-energy driving on the streets of Atlanta, both drivers will take their expertise to the track this weekend in the Formula Drift Atlanta contest.
