Tim Cahill, the hard-attacking midfielder (and occasional striker) from Everton in England's Premier League, arrived in the United States last night, according to the New York Post. Cahill, who has played in two World Cups for Australia, has signed with the New York Red Bulls to join Thierry Henry in an already potent offense.

“Talking about Tim Cahill, he's going to be great," said Henry before the Major League Soccer All-Star game last night in Philadelphia. "We're going to have to wait for him to undergo his medical. He's going to be a great asset for us and also for the league."

Landon Donovan, who played with Cahill at Everton, told reporters, "I would have preferred to have him in L.A. but it’s a great opportunity for him and fingers crossed everything works out for him."

Cahill is 32 years old and has played for Everton since the 2004-'05 season. Over that time, he has scored 56 goals in 223 appearances.

"If you saw the guy play [and] the way he plays," Henry added, "I love the commitment and I always loved his commitment. He's great in the box, his headers are unbelievable. He fights back to the net and his football brain is great also. Hopefully, that can be a plus for us."
