- About this Video
- Few can argue the significance of WCA's impact on West Coast street art since it formed in 1985. And many of the legendary crew's artists have gone on to world renown, helping to fuel the growth of street art and graffiti from trendy galleries to Oscar winning documentaries. But WCA had never had a proper crew show until June 16, when it took over Mirror Gallery in Chinatown for a night of reunions, art, memories and celebration. The group's original surviving founders were in attendance, PJAY and Miner, along with artists like the organizer Pyro, Mear and Wisk. It was great to see dozens of writers and fans from all over the city come out to pay respects and support true street art in its purest form. The West Coast Artists show runs through July 10 at Mirror Gallery, 963 Chung King Road,.
