When he was a kid, Marc Coma used to collect pictures and trading cards of the Dakar Rally. This passion for collecting things appears to continue for the 28-year-old Dakar competitor. At any rate, this year on the road from Barcelona to Dakar, Marc and his KTM managed to accumulate eight trophies, among them two stage victories, which assured him second place in the final ranking. This sensational result (Marc later said, ‘If anyone had told me that I’d come in second in Barcelona, I’d have told them, “You’re crazy!”’) gave him wings: this year the Spaniard won both the Argentinian Rallye Por Las Pampas and the 19th Sardinia Rally.
