The official submission period is April 15th, 2006 to July 15th, 2006. Photos submitted before or after this window will not be accepted.

Playground
Images that showcase the landscapes, locations, platforms, and environments in which athletes play
New Creativity
Images that reveal a unique angle, a visual idea, a different format, light & flash effects: something never seen before! It’s the purely creative image without digital alterations
Lifestyle
Images that represent what happens before, between, and after the action, capture the camaraderie, the coaching, the training that comprise the world around a sport
Spirit
Images that portray the raw human emotion, energy, aura, spirit, expression, inner focus, personality brought out through an athletic performance
Energy
Images that demonstrate the force that powers an action and show the energy, speed, strength required for an athlete to perform
Close-up
Images that show extreme detail of some aspect of an athletic feat: a full body tight shot of the action, the equipment, the body, the face, etc.
Wings
Images that capture the point in a performance in which the athlete takes flight, catches air, free falls, soars, jumps
Sequence
Images that tell the whole story in a single frame and capture the progression of an action at every stage
Experimental
Images that have been enhanced digitally or in the darkroom through alterations made in the production or digital editing process
Illumination
Images that illuminate your artistic skill, your personal best, your unique style; this is an open category so anything goes and give us your best shot
IMPORTANT INFORMATIONS
* Pictures of other action and adventure sports may also be submitted. The jury panel will decide on their admission to the contest.* Every photographer over 18 years of age may submit five photographs in each of the ten different categories (see page Categories). Each photo may be submitted in one category only.
* Photos must be submitted onto www.redbullillume.com in JPG format. Minimum picture size is 5 megapixel, the file must not exceed 5 megabites. Digital photographs must be taken with a 8 megapixel camera or higher.
