Hi, my name is Susanne Mai. My discipline is Kiteboarding. My friends call me Susi. I was born on 18 May 1984 in Munich, Germany. My special talent is skydiving, surfing, TV presenting and photography . My philosophy of life is it's better to try something than to regret not having done it later. The most important person in my life is my mum and dad. My favourite food is chocolate. My favourite music is anything.

Bio

'Susi' Mai may have been a late starter to kitesurfing, but she's a natural and as good as they get. When Susi was six-years-old, her parents moved from Germany to Cabarete in the Dominican Republic, where she lived the life of a carefree beach girl. While Susi attended a bilingual elementary school, the sport of kitesurfing was just a past-time for her, only "exercising" on a Playstation. So it came as somewhat of a shock when Susi placed second at her first international competition!

Susi has been crowned ‘Queen of the Air’ three times and is ranked 11th on the PKRA tour, having finished second on the tour in 2003. Sheer determination, passion and raw talent have seen Susi climb to the top of her sport, flying the flag for female kiteboarders across the world.

Susi’s talents are not just limited to the water; in 2010, she embarked on a new challenge, presenting a new series of travel shows for the Red Bull Web TV channel. An insatiable hunger for adventure and extreme sports and a talent for TV presenting saw Susi criss-crossing the globe for the Global Blitz Trippin' series, bringing viewers bite-sized guides to the most exciting events at cities all around the world. Highlights of the series included exclusive behind-the-scenes action at the Red Bull Air Races in Barcelona, a whirlwind tour of Sisikon in Switzerland and a trip back in time in Egypt.
