Hi, my name is Chris Davenport. My discipline is freeski big mountain & freeride. My friends call me Dav. I was born on 4 January 1971 in Aspen, Colorado, USA. My special talent is leading ski camps for up and coming winter sportsmen and sportswomen. My favourite music is Bob Marley, The Black Keys, Jerry Garcia.

If you're ever talking about people who are truly at one with the mountains, then Chris Davenport is bound to come up in conversation. Chris – or 'Dav' as he's also known – has seen and done almost all there is in his long career as a skier. Early in his career, he was a keen racer; highlights include being a two-time winner of the World Extreme Skiing Championships and a bronze medal winner in the Winter X Games. But, in the years that followed, he began setting his sights on conquering the great mountains of North America, and beyond. Chris' tick-list included almost every 14,000-plus foot mountain in California, all 54 mountains in Colorado (all of which he traversed in a single calendar year), and even Mount Everest!

Chris finds real peace and tranquility in the mountains, and so naturally spends the majority of his time there. But he's no mountain hermit – Chris has a wife and three kids, so you can rest assured he's pulled back to reality often enough.

In recent years, Chris has been focusing his attention on making ski films. To date he has starred in over 25 movies, and has presented for ESPN. In his spare time, he leads expeditions and teaches at ski camps to pass on the torch to the next generation of skiers, in the hope that they discover the same serenity that he himself holds so dear.
